September Holiday Workshops

The Sheldon LINQ Academy spent the week with another fabulous group of young people from across Southeast Brisbane. We were fortunate to be accompanied and coached by World Number One Drone Pilot, Ben Mortensen. Ben is an internationally recognised drone racing pilot who has won a Gold Medal for Australia at the 2018 FAI World Championships and races all over the world as part of the Drone Champions League (DCL) Television Show.

The Nvoke Drone Racing Workshop developed students piloting skills through hours of practical flight time. Students unpacked theory of drone flight and CASA safety and worked in teams to design their own racecourse. The program is filled with pure action as young people enjoyed one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, drone obstacle racing.

We also had students finalise their $20 Boss Program projects using 3D printing, Laser Cutting and general project design. The $20 Boss Program introduced students to enterprise skills, problem ideation and solution generation. Each student was provided with $20 seed-funding along with the opportunity to exercise leadership, build decision-making skills, and increase their ability to work in a team.

Sheldon LINQ Academy Workshops are delivered in our state-of-the-art facilities, the LINQ Precinct. The LINQ Precinct, with robotics, artificial intelligence, engineering and rapid prototyping lab, business and incubator hubs, an industry-standard film and television studio and a virtual reality lab, provides a stimulating, energising, agile and proactive experience for students.

Registrations are now open for our December holiday program. Secure a ticket here.
