Bangladesh Education Delegation Visit

An education delegation including Md. Abdul Maleque, Director (Training), Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Division from the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Foreign Training Branch, visited the Sheldon LINQ Academy and Sheldon College in March. The delegation came to Australia to learn how the National Curriculum is implemented at the Secondary Education level.

Sheldon LINQ Academy and Sheldon College were asked by The Brown Collective and QUT to host the delegation and to showcase best practice in delivering and maintaining quality teaching and learning in the secondary school environment.

Bangladesh Delegates

Director of Senior Schooling at Sheldon College, Mrs Diane Vandermeer said, “It was a pleasure to host over 20 members of the Ministry of Education from Bangladesh at Sheldon College. On the tour, our visitors asked many questions about Education in Queensland and in particular how we have structured Sheldon College to achieve our Student Exit Outcomes.”

“We discussed how curriculum is enacted in Australia and the impact of the Curriculum on staff and students at Sheldon College. Areas discussed included Pedagogy in Action and Assessment and Digital Pedagogies – why we assess and what tools we use.”

The Delegation was amazed at the passion and dedication of Sheldon College staff and the size of the campus. The facilities at Sheldon College had them in awe of the opportunities available to students.  The delegation also noted that Sheldon College students were happy and engaged.  Sheldon College looks forward to a continuing liaison with these educational professionals.
