The Sheldon LINQ Academy hosted two wonderfully inspiring Holiday Workshops.

ACADEMY FOR ENTERPRISING GIRLS WORKSHOP

Superhero girls worked in teams to understand and accomplish innovative entrepreneurial solutions, in the ‘Academy for Enterprising Girls’ Workshop, whereby they solved real-world challenges and transformed into superhero businesswomen!

Part of the workshop was facilitated by Ms Jaq Tate, from the Academy of Enterprising Girls. Jaq is a Neuroscientist and a University Lecturer in Robotics with a real passion for changing gender inequity in STEM fields. During the workshop, students pitched their ideas by creating short pitch videos and several of the students developed prototypes to their solution using Adobe XD.

DIVE DEEP INTO THE UNKNOWN WORKSHOP

The second workshop was an exciting Underwater Virtual Reality Minecraft exploration, “Dive Deep into the Unknown”. Participants examined marine biology using Minecraft Aquatic Update and explored the underwater marine life, a world of creatures, shipwrecks and the forgotten ruins that hold mysteries treasures.

Students were guided by our specialist Virtual Reality Developer, Mr Sam Vidler, to design an underwater experience that protects our oceans and the wildlife that lives on and around it and then learned how to generate a VR experience using ‘Unity’.
