Inspiring STEM Teacher Workshop

Our inaugural Inspiring STEM Workshop held in collaboration with Australian Curriculum Writer, Mrs Anna Kinnane, Inspiring Australia QueenslandModern Teaching Aids, and Award-winning and inspiring keynote speaker Dr Catherine Ball charged over 60 educators with new skills, knowledge, and dispositions to share back with their schools and the wider STEM community.

The end of term is always a demanding time for teachers with marking, reporting, and planning loads and therefore, it was inspiring to see so many teachers from across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Sydney committed to exploring the exciting world of STEM and the paths that it can take our students in the future.

Our Keynote speaker Dr Catherine Ball, took the floor with her thought-provoking Keynote – VR, AR, immersive experiences, gamified learning, whatever happened to sitting and making notes in the classroom with a textbook? A thought-provoking and highly engaging keynote. As educators, we can all attest to the phrase “Every Day is a School Day”, even as teachers, we are constantly absorbing new ways of teaching and learning to ensure our students are engaged, current, and prepared for the world which awaits them.

Multiple streams of workshops were facilitated by the Sheldon LINQ Academy catering for teachers from primary and secondary settings and each workshop demonstrated authentic classroom implementation demonstrating the convergence of pedagogy, technology, and space.
